Triage

In an effort to deal with the high volume of appointment requests we are introducing a triage system for same day requests to ensure you are seen by the most appropriate healthcare professional at the right time.

 

If you are requesting a same day appointment, including urgent or home visit please call the practice between 8am and 9am. Our reception team will need to ask you to provide a brief description of the issue and take your telephone details so that a doctor can call you back before 10am.

 

The doctor will assess your health needs and direct you to the most appropriate health professional such as a doctor, nurse, pharmacist or advise you of self help. You may not always need to see a doctor, or the doctor may be able to help you over the phone. In the event that you need to be seen then the doctor will allocate one of the ‘on the day appointments’, or if your problem is more routine or on-going you will be offered one of our pre-bookable slots.

 

The doctor will attempt to phone you on the given contact number once. The doctor cannot leave messages on answer phones owing to patient confidentiality issues.

 

Requests for routine appointments will not be triaged and can be booked by telephone, online or in person at the reception desk.

 

Cancelling your Appointment

If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone reception staff at the appropriate surgery. By giving us as much notice as you can you are helping us to make sure that someone else is given your slot.

To register for this service please print and complete this Registration Form and hand it to reception.  Registration forms also available at reception.  Photographic ID is required to register for this service.

Once we have completed your registration you will be emailed registration details where you will then be able to book/cancel appointments and request repeat medication.

Please order your prescriptions in plenty of time

Please allow 4 days for collection from Chemist or 2 working days collected from the surgery

Urgent Requests – Order by 10am – Collect at surgery by 11.30am the following day

NB: The doctor may wish to see the patient prior to issuing a repeat prescription. Prescriptions are usually available within 4 days of processing and collected at the local chemist unless otherwise instructed.

Kinloch Rannoch

Kinloch Rannoch is a dispensing practice and urgently needed medicines can be dispensed at the time of consultation.

Repeat prescriptions should be requested by bringing, posting, emailing, phoning or faxing your slip to us and will normally be ready for collection during reception hours 2 working days (Monday to Friday) later.

Prescription charges must be paid on collection by cash or cheque (made payable to Aberfeldy and Kinloch Rannoch Medical Practice, card details on reverse) unless proof of exemption is presented.
